我們常聽到艾立勤神父談華人福傳, 等待了三年, 黃惠敏福傳師終將到灣區訪問,會為我們有系統地分享她的福傳專業與經驗. 機會難得,切勿錯過!!! 歡迎邀請對福傳有興趣的朋友們一起來參加.
黃惠敏福傳師四年前從輔大神學院教義系福傳組畢業,擁有福傳碩士學位,也是第一屆的畢業生與福傳師. 過去四年在華人福傳基金會的台北及台中福傳中心全職工作,帶動所服務堂區的福傳氣氛, 最近二年之內帶領80人領洗.

Dear brothers and sisters:

Happy Chinese New Year to you and your family! What a wonderful celebration we had on Sunday. It was particularly special that people from the local community also joined us in our display of Chinese arts and crafts. Thanks to Teresa Lai, Sophia Chen, all the school teachers, parents, and children for the vibrant and joyful cultural presentation! Retaining the Chinese culture and tradition are important for our families and for our mission. Thanks so much to Lucy, Maria Shao, Alan Hsia and our remarkable choir and Watermark worship teams. Thanks to Angie, Tien-Chia and all the liturgical groups, what a wonderful collaboration with the Cantonese team to have a trilingual Mass that integrates the New Year and Ancestry Remembrance tradition gracefully into the Liturgy. The Reception and dinner banquets were such a fun celebration! 120 people came to the banquet this year. What a great way to spend the New Year's eve together as a family! Thanks to James and Margarita to help us to create a rejoicing family spirit until the end. During the day, the leadership team and the Planning Task Force presented an update to our Bishop McGrath. He was very encouraging with all the progress we have made moving forward to become a Mission. He confirmed his presence with us in July and will keep us in his prayers. The two important things he asked us to keep in mind are the evangelization to the Chinese people in the Santa Clara county, and to continue engaging the young people. To that goal, we have a special event this Saturday with Grace Huang, from Taiwan, who brought 80 people to Catholic faith in the last two years. Finally, I want to thank Simon for his leadership of the Chinese New Year and Louis for the Christmas celebrations. They and their families have worked hard and made possible these activities that bring us together as a family. The strong participation of CM for Christmas and Chinese school for the Chinese New Year shows the importance of these ministries to our community.

Letter from Bishop McGrath

Dear Members of SJCCC

During the last six months we have been praying and working together following the directions of our Bishop on his letter of July 1st, 2011, with the goal of a more recognizable Catholic structure for our community.

A particular time of grace was the Workshop with Fr. Brendan the last November 12th where we received the answer to many of our questions; cherished together our past and projected our ideals for our future. As a fruit of this workshop we began to collect the different voices and recommendations from our community to be presented to our Bishop.

This is how I was able to send a letter to Bishop McGrath on December 16th providing him a summary of our work during the last six months and an outline of our recommendations. To give him more reference, I attached to my letter the Power Point presentation that was discussed in our last monthly leaders meeting of December. You will get all this material online in our web page.

Yesterday afternoon, January 2nd , I have received the answer of Bishop McGrath in a letter that you will find attached to this email. I think that this is an excellent news for all of us and the mature fruit of twenty eight years of sacrifice and apostolic presence of our community in the Diocese of San Jose.

During the following weeks I will be working together with our Interim Pastoral Council as well as with our Planning Task Force for future steps, we will keep you updated. God bless!

Dear brothers and sisters of SJCCC,
Every year on this Sunday, the Solemnity of Christ the King, we celebrate a new anniversary of our Catholic Chinese Community in the Diocese of San Jose. This gives us an opportunity to thank God for all the graces that we have received in the past, and also a new opportunity to envision our future with hope. We have received our mission from Jesus and we know that He will continue working between us, for he has said, “I am with you always.” At this time of thanksgiving, it is wonderful to have this intention in our prayers!
From a liturgical point of view, this Sunday has been an important transition in the US Catholic Church. In fact, on this Sunday we have used, for the last time, the English translation of the Mass that we have been using for most of the last 40 years. On next Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent, we will be switching to a new translation of the Roman Missal, which follows much more literally to the wording and structure of the original Latin version. We are so thankful to our liturgical coordinators, choir and generous volunteers who have been helping us to see this change as an opportunity to grow in our understanding and love of our Sacred Liturgy.
May the memory of our humble and omnipotent King, our Lord Jesus Christ, help us grow in humility and love, may all of us hear one day his amazing words: “Come you, who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

姜神父這次來灣區緊湊的行程中，除了在這個週末帶我們團體的將臨期避靜外，特別在本週三晚上準備了一場信仰講座，歡迎您能一起來「與主相遇」。

Dear brothers and sisters of SJCCC,
We had a wonderful Workshop with Fr. Brendan on Saturday 11/12. Fr. Brendan provided a very informative presentation about the future directions for structure of our community and parishes across the diocese, and he answered many questions from the community. There were also small group discussions where many feedbacks were heard and presented to all attendees.

I am very thankful that about 70 people across different segments of the community attended the workshop. There were people from all geographic areas and age groups including young adults and recently baptized. There were tears, joy, singing; as well as heated remarks and sincere attempts to reconcile; most importantly, there were expressions of hope for our future and desires to move forward to serve the broader Chinese community across the Diocese. I am happy that so many people came and actively participated in this important event.

The presentation (PDF) and pictures are available online. There will be additional communications from the Planning Task Force to summarize the learnings and actions from the workshop. The next step is to formulate our recommendations to our Bishop by the end of the year.

Many people used their talents with loving hearts in the preparation of the workshop, just like the good and faithful servants, they diligently use their talents to serve God's church. I want to thank you very much. Once again, sincere appreciation to the people who came to the workshop, showing their love of the community.

我們的團體組織結構在一個改變當中，在這時刻，我們需要大家的參與及意見。這些團體的意見會幫助設定團體未來的方向及方式，希望這些改變能夠更加幫助我們團體未來的成長。

我們很高興邀請到主教府的 Fr. Brendan McGuire 在11/12星期六，為我們團體帶領一個以『我們的教會，天主的教會』為主題的工作坊。 Fr. Brendan 在聖荷西教區內負責專案企劃，幫助各堂區組織結構的策劃及改進。這個工作坊將介紹和回答與組織結構相關的事宜，並有分組專題討論。專題分為組織結構和團體精神二方面，整個工作坊將用中英文雙語進行。希望每一位 SJCCC的教友都能參與! 這個工作坊將在11月12日從早上10點到下午2:30在 Parish Hall 舉行，包括免費午餐。我們希望大家踴躍參加並全程參與。請大家11/8(星期二)以前在網站上在報名所以我們可以為大家做最好的準備。請求天主祝福我們的團體，能在主內合一，繼續建立天主的國。

How to use Google Voice to collect student's voice home work

Traditional Chinese 9 class has setup a Google voice account to collect student's voice home work. We have acquired a free phone number with a dedicate voicemail box. Student can use home phone to leave home work as a massage. In addition to that, teach can check the messages just like checking his/her emails.

Instruction:

I) Install a FREE Google Voice account.

1. sing up with a FREE google mail account.
2. log in to your gmail account.
3. In your browser, start a new window and type www.google.com/voice.
4. In the Google voice window, click "Upgrade My Account" button.
5. Select "I want a new number".
6. Enter Area or Zip code box with "408" then choose your prefered number. (Please copy down this number in a separate piece of paper.
7. Click on "Continue" button.
8. In "Create a new PIN" window, enter your pin number with 4 digit. (Copy down this PIN number for later use).
9. Check on " accept Google Voice's Terms and Privacy Policy." box and click "Continue" button.
10. Copy down the 2 digit secret code which will be used in your confirmation process.
11. Once your voice account is successfully installed, an email will be sent to you for verification (in your associated email account). Please login, activate this mail, and enter the secret code found in step 10)

II) Setup the your voicemail box1) Repeat step 2 and step 3 in section I.
2) In Google voice window, select your phone number on the right top corner.
3) Select "Google Chat" but unselect all other resources (no home, cellular, or office).
4) Click on "Edit" button in Google Chat .
5) In the Settings window, Voicemail Access section, select "Yes", and "PIN not required".
6) In the Ring Schedule section, select "Never ring on weekdays" and "Never ring on weekends"

III) Call your Google Voice number and leave a message
1) use a regular phone (or cellular phone ) to call your Google Voice number.

IV) Check your voicemail box
1) login in to your Google account.
2) The voicemails are listed in your Inbox.
3) Open the mail and click "Play" button.

V) How to change your greeting message?
1) Search "google voice change greeting" on www.google.com.

Half Moon Bay social !

We're heading toward the beach! This is a social gathering and not sponsored by San Jose Chinese Catholic Community.

Location: Half-moon Bay Sate Beach
The beach is located a half-mile west of Highway 1 on Kelly Avenue in Half Moon Bay. There are three parking and beach access points. We will meet at Venice Beach, at the end of Venice Boulevard off Highway 1. Please check map, direction and weather before you leave.
Date: 7/30 Saturday from 2-6 pm or later

Activities:
I’ll ask older kids to organize a few friendly games but the majority of time will be for any beach activities you prefer (swimming, surfing, hiking, building sand castle, playing balls or just hang out and watch sunset together).

SJCCC 教友和神長們, 大家好! 主內平安！

基督聖體聖血節彌撒後 (6-26-11)，SJCCC 主席錦榮突然宣佈即刻辭去主席的職位。主席團尊重錦榮的決定，並代表所有的教友和神長們，向錦榮兄致以最高的謝意。感謝錦榮過去一年中在主席的職位，為我們團體辛勞的付出，更期望他繼續在團體內服務。

主席團同時並向所有教友們確認，團體所有的運作，沒有任何的改變，現由主席團三位副主席繼續的執行既定計劃，共同管理行政事務，並和神長保持密切的聯繫和合作。若有任何的問題和祈願，請和主席團聯絡，謝謝！

In last Sunday (6/26/11) After Mass Announcement, SJCCC Chairman Kam made the announcement that he has resigned from the Chairman position and effective immediately. The Chairboard respects Kam's decision and on behalf of all SJCCC brothers/sisters would like to express our sincere appreciation of all the dedication and hard work that Kam has offered in the past year. We look forward to Kam's continuing support.

The Chairboard also want to assure to all SJCCC brothers/sisters that all the administrative operations remain the same. The remaining Chairboard of three Vice Chairpersons will assume all responsibilities to ensure all predetermined events and schedules will continue as originally planned.
